The opening celebrations for the church took place over the weekend of March 20-22, 1936. The official opening of the hall was on March 25, 1995, with the Moderator of the Tasmanian Uniting Church Synod, Rev’d Peter Cotterell, and the President of the National Assembly, Dr Jill Tabart.

The 90th Anniversary Celebration included a Harvest Thanksgiving Service led by retired ministers, Rev’d Sherryl Smith and Rev’d Peter Grayson-Weeks, and members of the congregation. The Preacher was the Moderator of the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania, the Rev’d Salesi Faupula, who also presented Certificates of Recognition to Elders Emerita Frances Seen and Beryl Nielsen, and dedicated the Banner created for the occasion. A lace altar cloth original made by the late Kathleen Pryor (who was the driving force behind the building of the hall in the 1990s) was rededicated by the Moderator.

Following the service there was a community barbecue served by members of West Tamar Rotary, and a historical display. The West Tamar Council was represented by Mayor Christina Holmdahl and Councillor Joy Allen. Members of State Parliament (from three parties) were also in attendance.
